Fabrizio Romano reports that Bayern Munich are still planning a move for Joao Palhinha in January.

After seeing a deal for Joao Palhinha fall through on deadline day of the summer transfer window, Bayern Munich remain interested in the Fulham midfielder, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer market insider has told CaughtOffside that, according to his sources, the German champions are looking to make a fresh move for the Portugal international in January.

Palhinha himself is said to be keen to make the move happen, so the deal depends on whether Bayern can reach an agreement with Fulham.

Should that prove impossible, the Bavarians will look to sign one of the other defensive midfielders on their list, with the Bavarians determined to strengthen at the No. 6 position in the winter, according to Romano.

The 28-year-old defensive midfielder signed a new long-term deal with Fulham until 2028 last month.
