After impressing for the FC Bayern World Squad, 16-year-old Maycon Douglas Cardozo is now joining the Bavarians’ U17 team.
FC Bayern confirmed on Thursday that the youngster has signed a contract until 2027.
Cardozo, who has Portuguese and Brazilian citizenship, was trained and developed at Bayern’s youth partner in Thailand, the Sport Thai-Bavaria Football Academy, before joining the FC Bayern Global Academy in 2024.
“We have been working successfully with Sport Thai Bavaria in Thailand for ten years now in the area of youth football,” commented Jochen Sauer, Head of the FC Bayern Campus.
“We are all the more delighted that a player for our youth team has now emerged from this partnership. This once again emphasizes how well our FC Bayern Pathway works in international youth football.”
