Having turned down Kepa, Bayern must now look at other options in their search for a new goalkeeper. Sevilla’s Bono remains on the shortlist, although reaching an agreement with Sevilla could prove difficult.
Bayern Munich have reportedly stepped up their interest in Sevilla FC goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, who is also known as Bono.
As confirmed by Bayern’s CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen yesterday, the German champions were initially looking to sign Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga to fill in for Manuel Neuer, who is still working his way back from injury.
However, the Spanish goalkeeper opted to join Real Madrid instead, forcing Bayern to look elsewhere.
According to TZ, the Bavarians have intensified their talks with Bounou’s entourage over the weekend, but face a major stumbling block as they would prefer to take the goalkeeper on loan, while Sevilla want to sell him for around €20 million.
