The fact that Joao Palhinha has signed a new long-term contract with Fulham doesn’t mean he won’t join Bayern in January, according to reports.

Fulham have signed Joao Palhinha to a new long-term contract, but that doesn’t mean he won’t be joining Bayern Munich, according to reports.

Bayern came close to signing Palhinha on deadline day, but the deal ultimately fell through, apparently because Fulham couldn’t find a suitable replacement for the Portuguese midfielder before the transfer window closed.

Bayern remain interested and are planning to make a fresh move for the 28-year-old in January, despite him signing a new contract with Fulham until 2028, according to Fabrizio Romano.

In addition, both Palihina and Fulham are said to be open to reopen negotiations with Bayern when the transfer window opens.
