Bayern Munich have been handed an injury boost with the return of Serge Gnabry to training.
Gnabry underwent an operation after an unfortunate collision with Preußen Münster’s Johannes Schenk in the DFB Pokal resulted in the German breaking his forearm. As a result, Gnabry missed out on Julian Nagelsmann’s first Germany squad, but it means that Bayern have received a boost ahead of their Bundesliga game against Mainz on October 21.
The 28-year-old completed a 30 minute running session on Wednesday morning.
Matthijs de Ligt is also working on his comeback and is training individually following a knee injury. It’s unclear as to when the Dutch defender will return, but there’s also some optimism that he could be fit for Bayern’s game at Mainz.
But there’s concern around Dayot Upamecano, who was ruled out of the France squad with a muscular injury after being withdrawn in Bayern’s win against Freiburg on Sunday. It’s unclear as to when the Frenchman will return.
