Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn has given an overview of their current pursuit of Rennes’ Mathys Tel (17) and RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer (25).
“There was another conversation will Tel recently,” Kahn told TZ. “We are also in contact with Laimer. We just have to wait and see how things develop now.”
As reported today by Foot Mercato, Rennes are ready to accept Bayern Munich’s €30m offer for Tel. This comes after the Ligue 1 side have already rejected two approaches from the Bundesliga champions – but are expected to accept their third offer. Tel has played just 79 minutes of first team football for Rennes.
In regards to Bayern’s pursuit of Laimer, RB Leipzig have rejected a second offer reported to be around €23m including bonuses – Leipzig want a fee closer to their €30m valuation for the Austrian, who has one-year remaining on his current deal and a desire to join Bayern.
Leipzig have internally set a deadline of July 30 for Bayern to reach an agreement.
