Sky Germany reports that Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala will be out for the next eight weeks with a hamstring injury picked up on Friday evening.
After scoring the equaliser in Bayern’s 3-1 win against Augsburg, Musiala was substituted off in the 54th with what seemed to be a pulled hamstring.
The subsequent diagnosis is a hamstring tear that will keep him out for the next eight weeks, ending his Bundesliga season. Musiala hopes to be back for the Champions League final, if Bayern make it, and the Nations League finals in June.
In a matter of weeks, this is the fourth major injury that Bayern have suffered to a key player. Musiala will join Alphonso Davies (torn ligament), Dayot Upamecano (knee injury) and Hiroki Ito (foot injury) on the sidelines for the rest of the season.
You get the sense that Bayern are limping towards the finish line in the Bundesliga, and the work they did earlier in the season may be enough for them to win the Bundesliga title. On the other hand, games against Borussia Dortmund, Mainz, RB Leipzig and Borussia Mönchengladbach do not look so eas,y especially when Bayern struggled so much last night against Augsburg, before a favourable refereeing decision to send Cedric Zesiger off for the hosts.
