According to kicker, Bayern Munich will be without Joshua Kimmich when they face VfB Stuttgart on Friday evening.
It had previously been reported that the 30-year-old would be a doubt for Der Rekordmeister after being substituted against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday afternoon.
It is understood that Kimmich is suffering from tendonitis, and while this will not keep the German international out for an extended period of time, it will mean he will have to sit out for Bayern’s visit to the MHP Arena.
Speaking ahead of the clash in Stuttgart, Vincent Kompany explained that they will “probably” travel without the midfielder “unless a miracle happens this afternoon.”
As well as this, it is expected that Leon Goretzka will step in for Kimmich, having turned his fortunes around this season with commanding performances for Kompany’s side.
However, this will mean that Der Rekordmeister’s €50 million signing, João Palhinha, will once again be overlooked, bringing into question the necessity to lure him in from Fulham for such a lucrative fee.
