Bayern Munich have had three days to recover after their midweek victory over Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League and now must prepare for another test in the Bundesliga against Union Berlin on Saturday.
Ahead of this fixture, manager Vincent Kompany provided some team news in his press conference this morning and confirmed that defender Minjae Kim has a problem with his Achilles tendon and will miss the match.
“We hope he’s not out for too long, but definitely for the next couple of weeks. It’s about managing his workload,” said Kompany.
It has been over a week since goalkeeper Manuel Neuer suffered a calf strain in the first leg of the Champions League fixture against Leverkusen but this morning he was able to complete a light training session by completing some laps around the training pitch.
Jonas Urbig will remain as the starting goalkeeper after a solid display on Tuesday.
Aleksandar Pavlovic and Joao Palhinha also remain out injured.
Kinglsey Coman was substituted due to an injury on Tuesday but looks set to be in the squad on Saturday. Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane look set to start if Coman is not fit enough to start the match.
