Bayern Munich have set aside around €100 million to sign a striker this summer, according to Sky Germany. Sorting the position is a priority for the board.
The Bavarians let Robert Lewandowski join Barcelona for around €50 million after eight years at the club. They failed to replace the centre-forward properly.
Bayern signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool, but he is a winger and not a striker to lead the line. Die Rekordmeister missed that focal point.
The lack of a top-class striker allowed Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting to step into the starting XI. He has been crucial for Bayern, as he is their top scorer.
However, he is 34 and in the twilight of his career, and the club is looking for a new striker. They are ready to spend as much as €100 million if they can identify the right target.
Bayern like Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane. The board appreciates his profile and completeness.
Also, the Englishman is in the final year of his contract with Spurs. He is reportedly considering his future after becoming the club’s all-time top scorer without a trophy for his efforts.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy may have to sell, but he will demand every penny the 29-year-old is worth. The striker has interest from Manchester United.
Bayern operate smartly and will avoid a bidding war with United for Kane.
Another target for the Bundesliga champions is Napoli hitman Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian international is firing the Partenopei to their first Scudetto in 33 years with 21 goals and four assists.
His goals have put Napoli at the top of the Serie A table, where they are 16 points clear of second-place Lazio.
His four goals and two assists in the Champions League have helped them to the quarter-final, where they will face AC Milan.
However, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will reportedly demand around €150 million for his star striker. Paris Saint-Germain, Man Utd, and Chelsea are interested in the former Lille striker.
Also, the Bayern board is monitoring Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani. The French forward has 19 goals and 14 assists in 38 games.
Higherups at Bayern thought Kolo Muani was not well-rounded enough, but they are warming up to him. Die Adler have set a €100 million price tag on their asset.
It is unclear who the Bayern board will be spending their funds on. They want to take their time to identify a target that ticks all their boxes.
