Bayern Munich are reportedly eyeing a move for Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen, according to the Mirror.
Manager Vincent Kompany knows the player well, having worked with him at Anderlecht.
He wanted to sign Verbruggen when he was at Burnley, but Brighton sealed a £16 million transfer for him in 2023.
Kompany is still keen to secure the keeper’s services and is eyeing an audacious move in the summer.
However, Bayern will have to pay £50 million to tempt the Seagulls into selling the player.
Manuel Neuer is currently their number one goalkeeper, but he has turned 38 and has only a year left on his current contract.
Kompany views Verbruggen as Neuer’s successor, but they could face competition from Chelsea.
The Blues are seeking an upgrade on Robert Sanchez, who has made several high-profile mistakes this season.
Verbruggen has been earning rave reviews with his performances in the Premier League. He has started 25 matches in the English top-flight, keeping six clean sheets.
He could be tempted to join Bayern, where he can play regular Champions League football and have the chance to win big trophies.
