Bild reports that Bayern Munich are looking to boost attacking options heading into the summer with a backup striker and left-winger a priority.
It is well known that Bayern are looking for a backup for Harry Kane, however, the difficult part is finding someone who will be happy to sit on the bench behind the Englishman.
Several Bundesliga strikers are mentioned as being on Bayern’s list with Nick Woltemade (VfB Stuttgart), Jonathan Burkardt (Mainz), Hugo Ekitiké (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Benjamin Seško (RB Leipzig) all of interest to the Rekordmeister. Outside of Germany, Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres and Fiorentina’s Moise Kean are also linked. After his failed summer move, Christoph Nkunku could also become a topic again.
However, Burkardt, despite only costing €20m, has attracted interest from Bayer Leverkusen, Frankfurt and Leipzig and could even stay at Mainz if they qualify for the Champions League. Seško would cost over €70m and is regularly linked with a move to the Premier League.
The key to this would be to also sell Mathys Tel, who could bring in €60m.
The left wing is also an area Bayern are looking to improve on. Despite trying to pursue Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, PSG’s Bradley Barcola is of interest, but doesn’t suit the profile Bayern are looking for. Bayern’s ‘dream’ for the left-wing position is, in fact, not Wirtz but Athletic Club’s Nico Williams.
