Bayern Munich could be put off trying to sign Fulham’s João Palhinha amid Liverpool’s interest in the midfielder, according to Christian Falk.
Bayern attempted to sign the Portuguese international on deadline day in August but ultimately ran out of time. Palhinha was even spotted at Bayern’s training ground with a shirt in hand but had to head back to London once the deal feel through.
It’s long been reported that Bayern could make another for the Fulham man during the January transfer window. However, that might not be the case any longer.
With reports suggesting that Liverpool could be interested in signing the 28-year-old, Bayern would not want to enter a bidding war with the Premier League outfit.
This is because they’re not willing to overspend on a central midfielder as they’re prioritising a centre-back.
What’s more, Bayern have identified a cheaper alternative in Real Sociedad’s Martín Zubimendi.
