According to sources at Team Talk, several Bundesliga clubs are monitoring FC Twente’s breakout star Ruud Nijstad.
Although it’s believed that FC Barcelona were first interested in the 18-year-old, the Catalans encountered difficulties regarding a fee.
The reigning La Liga champions were reportedly reluctant to pay or even negotiate Twente’s asking price of €10million.
Now, the door has opened for a trio of German Bundesliga clubs in Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
It’s said that all three of the aforementioned sides sent scouts to watch Nijstad play with the feedback being “overwhelmingly positive”.
Despite just moving from the youth academy to the first team in summer, Nijstad has already featured 10 times for Twente since October.
The left-footed central defender has supposedly impressed with his maturity, composure and decisiveness on the ball.
On top of interest from Germany, several sides from the Premier League are keeping tabs on him, including Manchester City and Chelsea.
