Bayern confirm suspension for Mané

FC Bayern München have confirmed an in-house suspension for Senegalese attacker Sadio Mané following an altercation with teammate Leroy Sané during Tuesday’s Champions’ League match.

The reported upon physical altercation between Bayern teammates Sadio Mané and Leroy Sané will earn the former at least a one-game-suspension and an undisclosed fine. The Bavarian club confirmed that Mané will not be included in the matchday squad this coming Saturday against Hoffenheim in a statement released today.

Mané, in his current sporting form, doesn’t exactly count as much of a sporting loss. The 31-year-old has not scored a goal in any competition since returning from injury in the new calendar year. Mané did collect a pair of assists during a matchday 24 league victory over Augsburg, but has otherwise been unable to get his name on the scoresheet.

At present, there is no word as to whether Mané will be suspended for multiple matches. Bayern have merely issued a terse statement confirming both the suspension and the “misconduct” inherent in the incident.
