Recently returned from a loan-out to Vitesse, teenage attacking prospect Gabriel Vidovic will now spend a season on loan at Dinamo Zagreb. The 19-year-old’s loan out from parent club FC Bayern München was confirmed late Wednesday afternoon. Germany’s “Sport Bild” tabloid reports that Bayern have received a €500,000 loan fee as part of the arrangement. The German source also claims that Zagreb have secured a purchase option.

Vidovic has made four appearances for Bayern at senior level. He’s scored 21 goals for the Bayern reserves in the German fourth tier and netted four Erdevisie tallies last year. Sport Bild notes that Bayern have looked out for their own interests and built a buy-back clause into the deal as well. This is reported to be around €11 million. Vidovic was born in Augsburg, but chose to represent Croatia internationally.

“Dinamo Zagreb is known for its good academy and also for developing young players at a high level in professional football,” Bayern campus director Jochen Sauer noted in an FCB-released statement, “We are convinced that Gabriel will find ideal conditions there to take the next steps and gain playing experience, also in international competition. We are very excited about his further development in Zagreb and will follow it very closely.”
