Bayern Munich will have to manage without captain Manuel Neuer when they take on 1. FC Heidenheim in their final game of 2025 on Sunday.
The German champions confirmed on Monday that the veteran goalkeeper suffered a muscle tear in his right thigh during Bayern’s 2-2 draw with Mainz on Sunday.
In Neuer’s absence, 22-year-old Jonas Urbig is set to start in goal against Heidenheim.
The young goalkeeper has already featured in four matches for the Bavarians this season.
Sunday’s draw leaves Bayern nine points clear of RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, who sit second and third respectively, ahead of the upcoming round of fixtures.
