Reports have suggested that Bayern are unlikely to extend Leroy Sané’s expiring contract. However, after watching the winger score a brace in Wednesday’s win over Hoffenheim, club boss Max Eberl opened the door to a new deal for the 29-year-old.

With his contract set to expire in the summer, Leroy Sané is playing for his future at Bayern München – and he made a big impression with a brace in Wednesday’s 5-0 win over Hoffenheim.
Reports have suggested that Bayern are unlikely to offer the 29-year-old a new contract, but board member for sport Max Eberl is not ruling anything out.
“The way he presents himself is exactly what we need,” Eberl said in a post-match interview.
“We have never said that he has no future with us beyond this season. Leroy has incredible quality. If he puts that on the pitch like he did today, then he is without a doubt a player who can be considered for Bayern München.”
Commenting on his future, Sané himself said:
“Talks are underway. Max Eberl has already given his input. I feel good and now we’ll see what happens.”
