After months of speculation surrounding Leroy Sané’s future, it now appears clear that the winger will remain at Bayern Munich beyond the summer.
According to Bild’s ‘Bayern Insider’ podcast, Sané and the club have reached an agreement on a contract extension, with his expiring deal set to be extended by three years.
The German tabloid reports that Saudi club Al-Ittihad offered the 29-year-old around €25 million net per year, but Sané chose to commit to Bayern early on – a gesture the club’s management is said to have highly valued.
Sané, who currently earns around €15 million per year plus bonuses, will reportedly take a pay cut to stay with the Bavarians.
His new contract is expected to include an annual base salary of €10 million plus up to €5 million in performance-related bonuses.
The winger has been with Bayern since 2020, when he joined the club from Manchester City in a deal worth a reported €49 million.
