As reported by Kicker, Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen are expected to make a new attempt to sign Mykhaylo Mudryk (21) from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Bayer Leverkusen have long had an agreement in principle with Mudryk and had even reached an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk but following interest from Brentford, the Ukrainian side are commanding an improved transfer fee after they tried to place the Ukrainian in the Premier League.
However, Brentford have since had an offer accepted for Sampdoria’s Mikkel Damsgaard and are unlikely to further pursue a move for Mudryk, but B04 now face competition from OGC Nice to sign the Ukraine international.
Per the report, Mudryk announced in May that he only wants to switch to Champions League side Bayer Leverkusen and whilst a move to Nice would be an exciting proposition, a move to Bayer Leverkusen offers better sporting goals for the Ukrainian.
B04 are looking to sign one more attacking player this summer, Mudryk being the preferred candidate but the Bundesliga side have also been in discussions with Manchester City’s Samuel Edozie.
