Bayer Leverkusen are not concerned about the amount of interest surrounding Piero Hincapié (20), according to Bild.
The Ecuadorian international was one of the standout players for his country at the 2022 World Cup and has since gathered the intrigue of many Premier League clubs. This includes Chelsea, Arsenal, and most recently Tottenham Hotspur.
However, B04 bosses aren’t too concerned about the situation. The defender is currently under contract until 2026 with the option for an extension. This only makes Hincapié more expensive should a club come in and try to buy him out of his current arrangement. Simply put, Bayer don’t have to sell if they choose not to.
Hincapié moved from Argentinian side CA Talleres to Bayer in 2021 for €6.35m. It’s reported that the defender could now be worth upwards of €40m. Bild also reported that Spurs tried to buy the defender last summer for a similar value.
