FC Köln coach Steffen Baumgart is concerned about Sebastian Andersson’s persistent knee problems.
In an interview with Express, the 50-year-old says he believes the Swedish striker may be forced to retire.
“We hope for ‘Seb that he gets healthy – that he can play football again,” Baumgart told the Express.
“But I’m relatively sure that it will be very difficult for him to get back on the pitch again,” he added.
“Currently there is no new status, a return is not foreseeable.”
31-year-old Andersson last featured for Köln in April. His contract expires at the end of the season.
