A member of the goalkeeper ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week been condemned to an incoming spell on the sidelines.
The player in question? Ander Astralaga.
Astralaga’s name will of course be familiar to close followers of Barcelona.
This comes with the shot-stopper, highly-regarded behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital, having been called up for first-time duties on a number of occasions in the past.
Astralaga has spent the season to date lining out chiefly for Barca Atlètic, most recently featuring from the off in last weekend’s meeting with Ourense.
As alluded to above, though, Albert Sánchez’s troops will be forced to make do without the contributions of the 20-year-old for the weeks ahead.
This comes amid confirmation that, after being left out of Barca Atlètic’s squad to face Real Sociedad B, Astralaga has been diagnosed with tendonitis in his left ankle.
He is expected to miss around three weeks of action.
