An up-and-coming member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona was on Wednesday afforded a fresh call-up to first-team training.
That’s according to journalist Sergi Capdevila of Diario Sport, who points towards Sergi Domínguez as the player in question.
Stopper Domínguez, for his part, has of course featured on a number of occasions at senior level this season, afforded five appearances by Hansi Flick.
Recent weeks, however, had seen the 19-year-old link back up with Barca Atlètic, amid ongoing efforts on the part of Albert Sánchez’s side to get what has been a difficult campaign back on track.
And, evidently, across his recent appearances at reserve level, Domínguez continued to make a positive impression on the senior coaching staff in Catalunya’s capital.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of the aforementioned Sergi Capdevila that:
‘Hansi Flick has been able to count on Sergi Domínguez again this Wednesday when he returned to training.’
It is in turn not seen as out of the question that the young defender could be included in Barcelona’s matchday squad to face Atlético Madrid on Saturday night.
