The transfer team at La Liga giants Barcelona have this week been advised to launch a summer assault for a member of the midfield ranks at none other than arch rivals Real Madrid.
The player in question? Brahim Díaz.
Brahim, for his part, secured a return to base with Real last summer, after enjoying a productive stint in Italy with AC Milan.
And, though questions were initially asked regarding whether or not the 24-year-old possessed the necessary quality to carve out a role for himself in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, Brahim has since managed that, and more.
Though he cannot be considered a ‘starter’ in the ranks of Los Blancos, the Moroccan international has racked up 34 appearances across all competitions this season.
Not only that, but he has notched a none-too-shabby nine goals and five assists along the way.
And one individual who has evidently been left thoroughly impressed by such production on Brahim’s part comes in the form of Nolito.
Speaking in an interview with Diario AS this weekend, Nolito, who spent time as a teammate of the talented midfielder at Manchester City, urged another of his former clubs, in Barcelona, to go all-out for Brahim’s signature this summer:
“I would sign him tomorrow. I would spend whatever money was necessary, honestly. He seems like a wonderful player to me. Of course, he is already in Madrid. But if I were (Barcelona president) Tito Laporta, I would show up with a briefcase with the money to take him away (laughs).”
