According to Sport1 journalist Kerry Hau, Barcelona are planning on submitting a second, improved offer to Bayern Munich for 33-year-old striker Robert Lewandowski.
Barcelona’s first offer of €32m plus €5m in bonuses was completely ignored by Bayern Munich bosses, with the second offer expected to exceed €40m.
Joan Laporta is confident that there will be movement in the Lewandowski transfer saga over the next week but per the report, there is silence between the two clubs and as of now, no negotiations.
Barça believe that there will be movement once Bayern Munich sign Sadio Mané from Liverpool, with the Bundesliga side readying a third offer for the Senegalese forward.
Lewandowski is entering the final year of his contract and is unwilling to sign a contract extension beyond 2023, forcing Bayern’s hand into selling the Poland international this summer or playing an unhappy player and then losing Lewandowski the following year on a free transfer.
