La Liga giants Barcelona have agreed on the terms of a deal to sell youth midfielder Unai Hernández to Saudi outfit Al-Ittihad.
That’s according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.
The name of youngster Unai has of course dominated the media chatter at Barcelona over the course of recent days.
This came after word was forthcoming that the 20-year-old, aware of his long road to first-team minutes in Blaugrana colours, was taking into serious consideration seeking out a new challenge.
Unai stands as a crucial member of Albert Sánchez’s Barca Atlètic squad, acting as captain on his way to nine goals and three assists in 20 league appearances this season.
As alluded to above, though, the Catalans’ reserve outfit look set to be forced to make do without their midfield leader’s contributions for the remainder of the campaign.
This comes amid confirmation on the part of Fabrizio Romano that Unai is primed to join the likes of Karim Benzema, Fabinho and Moussa Diaby at Al-Ittihad:
‘Al-Ittihad have reached a verbal agreement to sign 20 year old midfielder Unai Hernández from Barcelona. €4.5m fixed fee, €500k add-ons and sell-on clause also included in package.’
