A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is expected to return to starting duties in the club’s upcoming meeting with Atlético Madrid.
This comes amid confirmation that Pedri is pushing for a spot back in Hansi Flick’s engine room.
Pedri is for his part fresh off marking his comeback from injury.
En route to Barcelona putting Deportivo Alavés to the sword by three goals to one on Saturday, the 23-year-old was introduced off the bench during the 2nd-half.
This came as his first appearance for a month, following a spell on the treatment table with a hamstring issue.
And if the latest word stemming from the media a day on is anything to go by, then Pedri appears to have come through his return unscathed.
As per a report from Diario Sport, the plan is for the Spanish international to add further minutes in Barca’s crunch showdown with Atlético Madrid this coming week.
On this occasion, though, as much will come as a starter, with Pedri likely to play somewhere between 60 and 70 minutes.
