An alarming update on the relationship between Barcelona and club captain Marc-André ter Stegen has on Sunday come to the fore online.
This comes amid claims that the German international is ready to stand his ground, in refusing a departure from Catalunya’s capital this summer.
It is of course common knowledge at this point that Ter Stegen has been deemed surplus to requirements by those behind the scenes at Barcelona.
With Espanyol standout Joan García on his way in at the Camp Nou, and Wojciech Szczęsny expected to stay put for another season, too, the Blaugrana’s long-time no.1 all of a sudden finds himself as the odd man out.
The intention on the part of Deco and co, in turn, is to find a new home for Ter Stegen for next season.
The 33-year-old himself, though, has other ideas…
Ter Stegen, it is understood, is ready to stand firm in refusing to depart, not yet giving up on reviving his Barcelona career.
As per a report from Diario Sport:
‘He understands that dressing room situations have been leaked maliciously and points directly to the club as a way to pressure him so that he decides to leave through the back door.’
It is in turn concluded that Ter Stegen is ‘ready to go to war’ with the Camp Nou brass over his future.
