An insight into the reaction of Barcelona star Gavi to the news of his latest injury setback has been forthcoming online.
The name of midfielder Gavi has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines across all of Spain on Tuesday evening.
This, unfortunately for the 21-year-old, comes for altogether less than positive reasons.
Barcelona earlier this week announced that Gavi was set to undergo a fresh surgical procedure on his knee, which was expected to keep him out of action for between four and six weeks.
The Spanish international, in turn, underwent precisely as much earlier today.
Unfortunately for club and player alike, however, the operation proved to be much more extensive than was initially hoped.
Gavi is therefore in line for a spell of four to five months on the sidelines.
And safe to say, news of as much did not go down at all well with the midfielder himself…
As per a report from Blaugrana insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS:
‘When doctors informed the player that the injury was much more serious than expected, he practically collapsed, as he knew he would be sidelined for a long time, even jeopardizing his chances of making it to the World Cup next summer.’
