A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona played through a bout of sickness in the club’s latest outing.
The player in question? Lamine Yamal.
Both winger Lamine and Barcelona are of course fresh off an evening to forget on Monday.
After making the short trip across Catalunya for a meeting with neighbours Girona, the Blaugrana found themselves condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline.
As much leaves Hansi Flick’s troops two points behind arch rivals Real Madrid atop the La Liga table.
Youngster Lamine, meanwhile, struggled on the night, missing several high-profile goalscoring chances, including one from the penalty spot.
And as alluded to above, a day on, a potential explanation for such woes has come to the fore online.
The info comes courtesy of Spanish outlet Què T’hi Jugues, who have confirmed:
‘Lamine Yamal was feeling unwell before playing against Girona and played the match with a fever.’
