Barcelona star Gavi has on Tuesday night moved to lavish the ultimate praise on teammate and midfield partner Pedri.
This comes fresh off another masterful display on the part of the latter earlier this evening.
Barcelona booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the Champions League a short time ago, sending Portuguese heavyweights Benfica packing courtesy of a 4-1 aggregate triumph.
The aforementioned Pedri for his part featured from the off in the clash, from his customary berth at the base of the Blaugrana’s engine room.
And the 22-year-old, as has proven the case time and time again this season, went on to dazzle, controlling the flow of proceedings courtesy of touch, passing, work rate, and calm under pressure.
Pedri was ultimately rewarded for as much with the Man of the Match award at Montjuïc.
One individual, though, of the opinion that this should be the very least of the individual silverware coming the way of his teammate this year, is Gavi.
Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle this evening, Gavi was adamant that:
“No one deserves the Ballon d’Or more than Pedri.”
