A round of comments on the part of Barcelona star Fermín López have turned heads in Catalunya’s capital this week.
As much comes after the attacking midfielder revealed the extent of his desire for Lionel Messi to return.
Fermín was faced by the media on Tuesday, during which the Spanish international was drawn on a host of topics.
One such question saw the 22-year-old asked, in the case of putting himself in the shoes of Barcelona sporting director Deco, which one player he would attempt to sign for the club.
And Fermín was characteristically honest in his response, explaining:
“If it were up to me to sign someone for Barça, I would sign Leo Messi. If they bench me for Messi, so be it!”
Turning focus back towards matters on the pitch, Fermín will be hopeful of keeping alive a fine stretch of individual form on Wednesday.
This comes as Hansi Flick’s Blaugrana prepare to bring a close to their league phase endeavours in the Champions League, in a meeting with FC Copenhagen.
