Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen has been left hugely disappointed by the recent behaviour of those behind the scenes at the Camp Nou.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Monday provided an insight into the ongoing fallout between club and player.
Goalkeeper Ter Stegen’s name has of course taken its place centre stage in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the last couple of weeks.
This comes amid the understanding that Espanyol standout Joan García’s arrival at Barcelona is set to push the club’s long-time no.1 out the exit door.
A series of recent reports have surfaced in the media surrounding Ter Stegen’s name, painting the German in an altogether negative light…
Just this past weekend, it was both claimed that the 33-year-old refused to travel for the 2nd leg of Barca’s Champions League semi-final meeting with Inter Milan, and then refused to speak publicly to the club’s supporters during their La Liga title celebrations.
And such ‘leaks’ have not gone at all unnoted on the part of Ter Stegen and his entourage.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Ter Stegen considers that Barça have acted treacherously. No one told him at the end of the season that he was not counted on, and he has seen controversial information appear about alleged behaviour in the dressing room that the German considers to be self-serving leaks to harm him.’
An incoming ‘guerrilla war’, in turn, has been touted between the two parties.
