The powers that be at La Liga giants Barcelona were left far from impressed by the comments of frontman João Félix regarding the potential arrival of Bernardo Silva at the club earlier today.
The name of midfielder Silva, of course, returned to the forefront of the headlines in Catalunya’s capital on Monday.
This came after the aforementioned João Félix dropped something of a bombshell regarding the future of his fellow countryman.
Speaking in an interview with Catalunya Radio’s Tot Costa, the 24-year-old revealed that Silva has been long been questioning him on life at Barcelona.
This comes amid long-standing speculation linking the Manchester City star with a Blaugrana switch.
“He is very careful with everything and he asked me about places to live, places to eat, about security… He asked me a little about everything and I said about tax issues because that’s what came to mind.”
Not only that, but Félix went as far as to reveal his belief that he has ‘convinced’ Silva to link up with the Catalans.
“If he comes, I’m going to ask for a commission!”, the attacker added.
Whilst such comments have since been met with widespread excitement on the part of the Barcelona fanbase, it is safe to say that they have not gone down nearly as well with the boardroom at the Camp Nou.
As per a report from Diario Sport’s David Bernabeu Reverter, the Blaugrana hierarchy did not at all appreciate the openness with which Félix discussed Silva’s potential arrival.
With the latter a legitimate transfer target for the summer window, Barca are of the opinion that the situation must be handled with more discretion than was displayed by their loanee striker on Monday.
