La Liga giants Barcelona have positioned themselves in the race to sign a leading member of the midfield ranks at Italian outfit Atalanta.
That’s according to TNT Sports Brasil, who highlight Éderson as the player in question.
Brazilian international Éderson has long been making a name for himself as one of the standout engine room operators in Serie A.
The 25-year-old, who generally lines out in a defensive-minded role in front of the back-four, proved something of an unsung hero for an Atalanta outfit who marched all the way to glory in the Europa League last season.
All told, in 53 appearances across all competitions, Éderson racked up seven goals, all whilst acting as the platform for La Dea’s more attack-minded stars to shine further forward.
And such excellence on the part of the South American has not gone at all unnoticed across the continent.
In fact, as per a report from the aforementioned TNT Sports, no fewer than four high-profile clubs have earmarked Éderson as a leading transfer target.
At the front of the queue are Barcelona and Manchester United, with Newcastle United and Juventus also in the fray.
Should any of these sides have any real intention of landing the midfielder, though, they will need to pay up, with the Atalanta brass expected to demand a hefty sum to sanction a sale.
