On loan from FC Barcelona, Sergiño Dest expresses his desire to stay at Milan after ending his loan spell with the reigning Serie A champions.
As quoted by Calciomercato, he said:
“I want to do my best to convince Milan to redeem me.”
Dest joined Barcelona following a bright spell with Ajax in the summer transfer window of 2020. He reportedly signed a five-year contract that had a release clause of €400 million.
But after a flurry of unconvincing performances from the full-back, the Barca board finally decided to give him a shot at revival somewhere else, with Milan securing the player’s services on a season-long loan in the eleventh hour of the 2022 summer transfer window.
The contract has an option to buy worth €20 million at the end of the loan spell. Since moving to Italy, Dest has made just two appearances, with both of them coming in the Champions League as a second-half substitute for the Rossoneri. As such, he is still awaiting his Serie A debut.
