La Liga giants Barcelona have been left with a clear path to the signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah.
This comes amid confirmation that chief rivals Bayern Munich have dropped out of the race for the services of the German international.
The name of defender Tah has of course long proven a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital.
As much comes after it was revealed that the German international had been identified as a leading transfer target on the part of Deco and the Barcelona brass.
Tah’s contract terms with Bayer Leverkusen are due to expire in the summer, meaning he will be available as a free agent upon the season’s close.
And, if the latest word stemming from his home country of Germany is anything to go by, then Barca look increasingly likely to get their man.
Speaking during an interview with Bild, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, over the weekend, Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund confirmed that the Bavarians are no longer on Tah’s trail.
MD therefore conclude that ‘Barça no longer have competition for the signing of Jonathan Tah as a free agent’.
