La Liga giants Barcelona have initiated tentative contacts with the entourage of Newcastle United star Alexander Isak, over a potential move to the club.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.
The name of frontman Isak has of course long proven a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital.
This comes with the Swedish international having been tipped by a whole host of outlets as a potential long-term replacement for the aging Robert Lewandowski in Barcelona’s frontline.
And, as per a report from Sport, initial talks over a deal have already taken place:
‘Barça has already made a move with Isak’s environment. Always in an informal way. That first approach served to verify that Isak would want to wear Barça colours.’
Isak, in turn, is considered one of the Blaugrana’s priority objectives for the summer.
Deco and co, though, are aware that a deal will not be an easy one to come by, with Newcastle United likely to demand a sum in excess of €100 million, and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal also in the hunt.
