The powers that be at Barcelona have come to a decision on the respective contracts of Sergi Roberto and Marcos Alonso, according to reports.
And the news is of an altogether positive nature for those long hopeful of the Blaugrana moving on from the oft-criticised defenders.
The info comes by way of Sport, who reveal that Xavi Hernández and his coaching staff have already given the green light for both Sergi Roberto and Marcos Alonso to be moved on.
The contracts of the pair are due to expire next summer, after being renewed for just 12 months earlier this year.
But, with both now on the peripheries of the first-team setup in Catalonia owing to intense competition for places, their respective stints in Barca colours look set to come to an imminent close.
It is added that the transfer team at Camp Nou intend to assess the situation more thoroughly after the close of the January transfer window, but that a definitive decision has been all but made.
In fact, the Blaugrana are already on the lookout for potential replacements for the full-back duo.
