Barcelona boss Hansi Flick drops hint on season plans for El Clásico MOTM Pau Víctor

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Sunday opened up on his season plans for a member of the club’s attacking ranks.

The player in question? Pau Víctor.

The name of frontman Víctor has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last 24 hours.

This comes after the 22-year-old, fresh off being re-signed from Girona (on this occasion on a permanent basis), proved himself difference-maker in Barcelona’s pre-season downing of arch rivals Real Madrid.

Fresh off starring en route to the Blaugrana getting the better of Manchester City during the week, Víctor was on target to the tune of a brace in the latest edition of El Clásico.

And as much proved enough to guide his side to the right side of a 2-1 scoreline.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle in New Jersey, it therefore came as little surprise when the name of his in-form striker was put to head coach Hansi Flick.

And, in news which will no doubt be met with widespread approval across the Barca fanbase, the German went on to confirm that ‘the door is open’ for Víctor to stay put in his first-team setup for the season ahead:

“Pau Victor? Three goals in two games is not bad at all. We’ll see what happens, he has the door open to stay in the first team.”
