Barcelona & Atlético Madrid tipped for summer striker swap deal

A high-profile exchange deal between two of Spanish football’s biggest clubs has been pushed as a legitimate possibility in the country’s media this week.

This comes amid suggestions that Atlético Madrid could make use of Barcelona’s interest in João Félix, to initiate talks for a headline member of the Blaugrana’s frontline.

The info comes courtesy of journalist Rubén Uría, as cited by Diario Sport, and points towards the brass at the Wanda Metropolitano as having set their sights firmly on the signature of Robert Lewandowski.

Polish international Lewandowski is of course fresh off tearing Diego Simeone’s side apart just days ago, en route to a 3-0 Barcelona triumph in Madrid.

And as much appears to have sparked chatter behind the scenes at Atléti, eager to bring the 35-year-old in with a view to next season.

It is therefore suggested that an ‘exchange’ of sorts could be on the cards.

The deal in question would see Lewandowski make the move to the Spanish capital in what would essentially be a free transfer.

In turn, Atlético would open the door for the aforementioned Félix – currently on loan in Catalunya – to head in the opposite direction, for a cut-price fee.

Though as much may sound somewhat outlandish on the face of it, it is reiterated that a number of high-profile directors at Barcelona would welcome a summer exit for Lewandowski, whilst Félix is known to be a favourite of Blaugrana director Deco.
