Barcelona are still in the market for a right back, and according to Relevo, they are back in for Iván Fresneda.
The deal for Fresneda has been an operation that has been on ‘stand-by’ for several weeks. At Barça, there were certain doubts about the player because of his age (18), and because of his termination clause being €20m. To this day, the Catalan club are unwilling to pay that amount.
Despite the interest of clubs in the Premier League, the Bundesliga and Serie A, Fresneda prefers a move to Barça, and has even rejected some other offers while waiting for an offer from his dream club.
Fresneda has the green light from Deco, the new sporting director at Barcelona, who has already met with the agents of the 18-year-old on a couple of occasions.
There are however doubts from Mateu Alemany and Xavi himself, both of whom would like to bet on a more experienced defender, like João Cancelo.
