Ayman Kari looking to run down PSG contract after rejecting summer approaches

Ayman Kari (19) returned to parent club Paris Saint-Germain this summer, off the back of a promising loan spell at FC Lorient. Whilst Les Merlus were ultimately relegated from Ligue 1, the French midfielder shone, especially towards the end of his 18-month stay at the Breton club.

However, he quickly discovered that he did not feature in Luis Enrique’s plans. With game-time prospects at Les Parisiens limited, Kari was the subject of approaches from numerous clubs, according to Foot Mercato. The publication understands that the France youth international dismissed interest from Antwerp, FC Nantes, as well as a raft of other Ligue 1 and Premier League clubs.

Given that Kari does not feature in PSG’s plans and has just one year remaining on his deal, this decision has been questioned, as it leaves the promising midfielder as at impasse and at such an important stage in his development. Foot Mercato understands that Kari wants to run his contract down at PSG, which would then allow him to sweep up a signing bonus at his next club – a questionable choice for sure.
