Kicker reports that Sevilla have made a second offer for Ruben Vargas, but it’s not enough to make Augsburg sell him.

After Augsburg sporting director Marinko Jurendic confirmed in December that Ruben Vargas won’t extend his contract beyond the summer, the attacking midfielder is widely expected to leave the club this month.
Sevilla currently appear to be the favorites to sign the 26-year-old, but so far they haven’t been able to match Augsburg’s valuation of him, according to Kicker.
Spanish publication Relevo recently claimed that the two clubs are close to a €3 million agreement, but this doesn’t correspond with Kicker’s report.
After an initial offer was rejected, Sevilla are now offering €1.5 million for Vargas, which still isn’t enough for Augsburg, according to the German football magazine.
Vargas is also said to have attracted interest from Borussia Mönchengladbach and the Italian Serie A.
