Pavlović on picking Bayern over Man City – “The decision wasn’t difficult”

The Bayern talent was apparently a hot topic at Manchester City last summer, but his mind was always fixed on his boyhood club from München.

Aleksandar Pavlović has opened up about Manchester City’s interest in him last summer, but revealed that his decision was an easy one

“First of all, it’s an honour when a top club like [Manchester] City comes calling,” the Bayern Munich talent informed Sports BILD.

“I grew up here in Munich, I’ve spent my whole life here so far, and I’ve always played football for FC Bayern.

“My family and friends live here, and for me, there’s nothing better than that. That’s why the decision wasn’t difficult,” he said.

Regarding comparisons with ex-Manchester City and current FC Barcelona star Rodri, the Bayern midfielder feels spurred on by it.

“Everyone knows what a world-class defensive midfielder Rodri is. He didn’t win the Ballon d’Or for nothing.

“Naturally, it’s an honour to be compared to a player like him. I take that as motivation to achieve my goal.

“[I want to] keep improving and establish myself among the world’s elite,” the 22-year-old concluded with a hopeful grin.
