The 2025 Royal Rumble marks the first stop on this year’s Road to WrestleMania. While this is a significant milestone on the WWE calendar, this part is also when the company starts to announce who will get the distinct honor of being named to the WWE Hall of Fame. On Wednesday, January 29th, PW Insider reported that the WWE
has named its first inductee for the Hall of Fame Class of 2025: Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque.
According to the report, Triple H
was caught off guard by the news. His wife, Stephanie McMahon, along with his buddies Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker reportedly surprised WWE’s Chief Content Officer during a company town hall earlier Wednesday.
This won’t be the first time Triple H will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. The Game has already immortalized in the WWE lore back in 2019 as a member of D-Generation-X, alongside Shawn Michaels, X-Pac- Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, and Chyna. The legendary
Triple H’s WWE Legacy
The Game transcended sports-entertainment in and out of the ring
There is arguably nobody more deserving of being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame than Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque. One of the greatest of all time, Triple H’s wrestling career alone deserves first-ballot recognition. The resume speaks for itself: 14-time world champion, the second ever Grand Slam Champion, a two-time Royal Rumble winner (2002 and 2016), a King of the Ring winner, a five-time Intercontinental Champion, a two-time European Champion, and a three-time tag team champion.
The Cerebral Assassin was one of the biggest stars who transcended several eras in the WWE. His rise to prominence came during the late 1990s and became a full-blown main event superstar in the 2000s and was one of the company’s top guys during the Attitude Era and the Ruthless Aggression Era. Unfortunately, Levesque had to retire from in-ring competition for good after he suffered a life-threatening medical condition.
Though he’s no longer dropping Pedigrees in the ring, Triple H’s influence continues to shape the wrestling world beyond the ropes. His contributions to the business outside the ring are just as remarkable as his in-ring career. Triple H was the mastermind behind the rise of NXT, shaping it into WWE’s premier breeding ground for future superstars. He played a major role in bringing the women’s revolution to light to help establish female superstars as equals to their male counterparts. He also helped the WWE’s expansion across the globe.
Following Vince McMahon’s retirement in July 2022, The Game took the reins as Head of WWE Creative. He now holds the title of Chief Content Officer. Perhaps his biggest accomplishment is locking in WWE’s historic partnership with Netflix. As the leader of this new era in WWE, there is no individual more deserving of a Hall of Fame immortalization than Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque.
