Atlético Madrid want to sign Bayern Munich star this month

The brass at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid are hopeful of bringing a member of the midfield ranks at Bayern Munich to the club before the month is out.

This comes amid confirmation of the Rojiblancos having set their sights on the signature of Bayern Munich.

Atlético are widely understood to be on the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park for the 2nd half of the campaign.

As much comes after Diego Simeone and co. gave the green light to Conor Gallagher’s return to England.

A whole host of engine room stars from across the continent, in turn, have been tipped as potential winter arrivals in Spain’s capital.

And as alluded to above, on Wednesday, a new name has been added to this list.

As per a report from German football insider Florian Plettenberg:

‘Atlético want to sign Leon Goretzka immediately as a top replacement for Conor Gallagher. Goretzka is a dream target for Simeone/Alemany. There were already direct talks between Atlético/Goretzka.’
