Atlético Madrid have reached an agreement with Udinese to sign Nahuel Molina, as reported by Relevo.
Molina will sign a five-year deal with Atlético and the deal will involve centre-back Nehuén Pérez moving in the other direction.
The agreement between Nehuén Pérez and the Italian club is still not in place, however, the parties are working to finalise it.
Atlético recently renewed the contracts of Jan Oblak and Thomas Lemar and are looking to strengthen their backline.
Nahuel Molina will be brought in to fill the gap at right-back left by Kieran Trippier, who departed the club to Newcastle United in the January transfer window.
Given his ability to play in a back-three and a back-four system, the Argentine defender would fit perfectly into the Diego Simeone system that depends on full-backs that are reliable defensively and can also move the ball up the pitch quickly.
