Atlético Madrid have set their eyes on Lens’ Deiver Machado, report AS.
Los Colchoneros are keen to strengthen the left-hand side of their defence. Their undisputed starter at left-back is currently Reinildo Mandava. Yannick Carrasco can fill in during the Mozambican’s absence, however, the Belgian has been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital for the past couple of weeks due to a disagreement over his contract renewal with the club’s board.
Thus, Atlético Madrid are in the market to find an alternative option to Carrasco and they have identified Machado as a transfer target. The Colombian defender has established himself as one of the best left-backs in Ligue 1 and he has been a key figure in Lens’ push for European football.
Machado’s contract is set to expire in France in June 2024 and Atlético Madrid hope that they can purchase the Colombia international at a cut price this January or next summer.
